A Message from the Board Chair

Richard Glasco

A number of Georgetown citizens, after serving on various boards here in Georgetown, became increasingly concerned about the affordability of housing for working-class and senior citizens here in Georgetown. The result was the formation of the Georgetown Housing Initiative.

The Georgetown Housing Initiative is a workforce housing advocacy organization that aims to increase the supply of workforce housing in Georgetown by providing education, advocacy, and thoughtful and workable workforce housing recommendations.

Georgetown Housing Initiative advocates for a wide range of housing options that allows our citizens to be less cost-burdened on their rent or mortgage, so they are close to work, school, recreation, and places of worship.
